BAP and DCP Series Power Systems

BAP 236 System Series

This modular, industrial quality DC/DC converter system uses field-proven topology with a track record in numerous heavy-duty applications. It is built with up to six 200W, BAP 236-EH plug-in converter modules assembled in a 3U x 19” card-frame and delivers up to 1200W or 1000W with N+1 redundancy. Each hot-insertable module has a built-in redundancy diode which allows for parallel connection and N+1 redundant operation. Modules with different outputs can be combined in one shelf to create a multi-output system. The plug-in modules are cooled by natural air convection.

DCP 65 Series

This system contains rugged, industrial quality DC/DC plug in converters and uses field-proven topology to generate the required output power. It is a mature design with large design headrooms and rated for operation over a wide temperature range without derating. The strict use of components with many years of established reliability results in a high demonstrated MTBF confirmed by a track record in hundreds of applications. Each module has a built-in redundancy diode which allows for an unlimited number of units to be paralleled for higher output power and N+1 redundant operation. The built-in redundancy also allows battery connection to the output for back-up purposes. The modules are hot insertable. Modules with different outputs can be combined in one shelf to create a multi-output system.

BAP 3K-CR2U/19-3 Series

This modular, heavy-duty DC/DC converter system is built with three 1000W BAP 65F power modules assembled in a 2Ux19” stainless steel, rack-mount cradle (CR 2U/19-3). The cradle is constructed with high-grade stainless steel and mechanical features that allow for easy insertion and removal of the BAP 65F modules. A built-in redundancy diode in each module allows for parallel connection and N+1 redundant operation. The system delivers a maximum of 3000W or 2000W with N+1 redundancy. Each module has a built-in fan which provides sufficient airflow for operation at the specified temperature without de-rating. The fans draw air into the unit and the exhaust exits at the rear of the unit.

BAW, BAF, BAB, DCE, BAP Series

BAW 09 Series

The BAW 09 Series rugged, industrial quality DC/DC converter uses field proven double conversion technology to generate 60W output power. It is a mature design with a track record in numerous applications. Cooling is via baseplate to a heatsinking surface and by natural convection. The unit has full electronic protection. Low component count, large design headroom, and the use of components with established reliability result in a high MTBF. Additional ruggedizing and conformal coating are available for immunity to shock, vibration and humidity. The BAW 09 is manufactured at our plant under strict quality control.

BAF 09-10, BAF 109-110, BAF 209-210 and BAB 210 Series

This rugged, field proven series has served as a key product in the 60 - 180W range DC/DC conversion for two decades. The design was upgraded several times over the years and has an impeccable track record. The basic concept has remained the same; a flexible design that can easily be customized for almost any requirements without set-up/NRE costs and competitive production cost. The chart above is a short summary of the approximate capacities of the various units of the BAF/BAB 210 series. Due to the large design headrooms and very conservative design approach, the power limits can also be extended. For a more standard selection, our DCW Series is available. Low component count and the use of components with established reliability result in a high MTBF.
